Golden Colorado Sunset

Home for now

by Beth Rennie
The RVing Psychic

We have settled down for a while. Rob is working for RTD in Boulder, CO. and we are living in Golden, CO. I am currently working part-time at Jefferson County Fairgrounds in Golden and in exchange the allowing us to live there for free. This was a big relief for us since we could not find any long term parking for our RV. We were staying at the camp ground on Buckley Air force base, but they only allowed 15 day stay during season. (May-Sept.) this is common at most of the campgrounds here.
I am learning all kinds of new skills some of which I would rather not know. All in all it is not a very hard job, just dealing with political and office dynamics is not really my thing.
Sometimes it seems that the right hand does not know what the left hand is doing and I get caught in the middle. I am also not used to working 8 hours at a time and am tired.
All that being said, I am extremely happy with the situation!! Rob and I love it here, the air is so clear and the weather is just right for me. We have been through two major snow storms and it was really not a big deal. The snow melts within a day or two and the temps have been up in the high 60's and low 70's on average with NO humidity!!
We are really missing our granddaughters and hope that they can come for a visit this summer. Our little dogs are happy to be settled, but they are not so sure about being left in their kennels everyday :( but I promise they are still being spoiled.
I finally unpacked all my crystals and stuff, I have not unpacked it in the last several moves we made and was feeling like I would never be able to again. Rob kept asking me when I was going to unpack and I did not have the heart to until I knew we were staying somewhere for a while. Now the inside of our trailer is happy and so ZEN!! I just love how it feels to be surrounded by my crystals. There are several metaphysical shops here in the Denver and surrounding area, so far I have only visited 1, but it is so much better than northern Fl. and southern Ga. where the closest ones were over an hour away. I have begun to attend some Meetup groups and hope that I can make some new friends. I miss my friends and the support from the community in Atlanta. You never know until something is gone how much it really meant to you. Being an introvert I have a harder time making myself go to events and meetups, there is nothing wrong and I am not suffering from anything, I just like to spend time putzing around and being by myself. It is when I do need to bounce something off someone or would like to go grab a coffee and talk, that I realize I have not made a ton of friends. My one friend here is really busy with her business, life and also now lives on the the other side of Denver that we have a hard time getting our schedules to sync.
So here I am my 19th anniversary is Monday and my 51st Birthday is May 10th. I am happy and excited about what is coming next! Life moves so fast I can hardly believe it has been a year since we hit the road.

I am still doing readings via the phone and email.

Another month in my life
Denver Colorado here we come

Life changes in a hurry!
One day I am working in Brunswick, Ga. and three days later we are in Denver, Colorado.
I guess I should start from the beginning, since we have been living in our RV for the last year we have struggled to find a a balance with our finances. Jobs canceling after we show up or before time to show up have played a big role in this.
Rob has worked hard all his adult life and I really wanted him to be able to relax and enjoy life for a change. Well that is all well and good, but we can not eat good intentions. So we started a dialogue about him getting a JOB, we discussed all the options and I suggested he search his heart and decide what he really wanted to do, it would have been easier for us had he just gone back to EMS, but that would have lead to health issues for him (Stress). In the end he decided he wanted to return to driving for public transportation
( this is where we met 20 years ago) he applied for several cities, Santa Fe, NM., Savannah, GA. and Denver, Co. We then began the wait to see who would call first. We received a call on Thursday informing him he had an interview in Denver the following Thursday. The person who called said they could reschedule if needed so he was not to worried. We were waiting for payday to get out there. On Monday he called back and spoke to someone else who said no they could not reschedule (OH NO!!!) we immediately packed up everything and left Brunswick, Ga. at 5PM on Monday.
Meanwhile Rob's dad had been admitted to the hospital so we decided to stop in Kansas City, KS to see him on our way ( it was literally on the way) we got there Tuesday night at 8PM and spent an hour with him then hit the road again. Our planned stop for the night did not pan out and we ended up driving way to long. After sleeping 2 hours we hit the road again to make the last leg of the journey to Colorado.
Driving through Kansas was like driving through history (when there was nothing for miles) we encountered high winds (gust up to 70MPH), with the winds and the speed we were traveling the trailer did not stand a chance, Rob looked back in the mirror and a large piece of the trim approximately 24" X 10' was hanging off the trailer into the lane next to us. We stopped and after a heart stopping repair with traffic traveling at 85 plus MPH and the wind blowing so hard it was pushing me over ( I am not a light weight) we got things under control again. we pulled into Denver Wednesday at 6PM. It was a long trip!!
Rob had his interview the next day and he got the job!! he started March 7th and seems happy with his choice. Since the great migration, Santa Fe, NM and Savannah, Ga have called, we have also received calls for several positions I applied for months ago. It seems we are in the correct spot, I have a position working with my friend Tina when I have transportation and have been approved to sell my jewelry on Amazon Handmade.
We are here so now what?? Well we have not had any luck finding a full-time spot for our RV after May15th, this has caused us a lot of distress. We love living in our RV, but if there is no space then we have to come up with something else.
After much consideration and discussions it looks like we will be taking a studio apartment in downtown Denver. We will park our RV in storage on the military base here and still be able to use it on weekends and vacations. We are super sad about this, but see no other way. Rob receives the rest of his retirement in 5 years and then we will reevaluate the situation. All that said we both LOVE DENVER!!!

Now on to more about what I am doing, I mentioned my acceptance from Amazon which is a big deal to me. I am also still doing readings by phone/email and and looking for a place to possibly teach some classes. This would make my heart sing.

My Amazon store is still being set up, but I have the address to share with you.
I still have my Etsy store and you can always find me on my Website,

I am going to write an additional blog this week about an article I read on Facebook that really touched me, so keep your eyes open for the another blog.

Safe travels
Until we meet again

Some of you have known me a long time and others are just getting
to know me so bear with me as I give a little background about my life.

Pensacola Florida Blue Angels Campground

I use all types of divination tools in my sessions including, but not limited to Tarot, Crystals, Pendulum, Channeling etc.. I have a love of all things paranormal and belong to Inner Light Paranormal group. We investigate and help people who are experiencing paranormal activity.
I Invite you to visit my web site to check out all I do. www.BethRennie.com

I am married to a wonderful man Rob Rennie who is super supportive even though he has no idea what I am talking about half the time. We have been dreaming about hitting the road in an RV for the past 9 years. We have researched RV’s and the life style, online and physically during that time. I have taken a few solo trips in an RV and a few with Rob. Needless to say I was smitten with the whole process.
We started by downsizing our lifestyle in 2013 by selling our 3000 sqf home and moving to a 1500 sqf apartment. Boy was that an experience, I sold over $3000 in stuff and gave away so much more. We were in our apartment almost 2 years. The first of 2015 I started downsizing again in the process of moving into the RV. Rob retired from his Fire department job March 2015 and was only working for the ambulance job. This was a big adjustment, but it allowed us to pay cash for our RV, which is what I would recommend for anyone looking to do this. There is a lot more to write here, but I don't want to get bogged down in to many details. If you have any questions about how we did it all give me a call or message me.
We finally found our RV in March and drove to Ohio to pick it up (we saved over $8000 doing this). We moved up to Lake Allatoona in Georgia to transition from a Stick and Brick home to a RV. Rob continued to work until Sept. 2015. I enjoyed the isolation and did a lot of work on myself. The lake was beautiful and the campground was peaceful. I think this was an important time for me and it was also eye opening. You really learn a lot about your self and others when you are not involved in daily life with them.
I have transitioned my business to internet, phone, Skype and email. I also have an Etsy store(Etsy BethRennie5) where I have several items of Jewelry for sale. I continue to be amazed at the life lessons we are learning along the way. We have been to Tennessee, Sebring, Florida, Pensacola, Florida and now in Brunswick, Georgia, (where I am working in the office of the campsite to pay for our site) just since September 2015.
We are now looking at moving to Denver, Colorado or Santa Fe New Mexico for the next several years so that Rob can work while we wait on the rest of our retirement to roll in. So we will head to Colorado next week for an interview he has there then we will decide what we want to do.
One major thing I have learned is life on the road is very fluid and definitely different from mainstream life. You still need to have an income to feed yourself, but it really changes what is important. The moments we have of silence and beauty are many and relieve any stress that crops up.
I have plans to start a monthly get together online called Spiritual Connections,
This will be a gathering of like minded people to talk about all things spiritual. I find that I need my tribe and miss them. This will be a NO COST group with no agenda other than coming together for discussion time. Please watch my Facebook page for details, Tarot by Beth Rennie.

Happy Trails until next time.
